The Diner's Feeding Calculator

The actual amount you need to feed will vary depending on the age of your pet and its activity level as well as some individual variation.

The amount of calories per gramme of food will also vary - some meats are fattier than others and so more have more calories per 100gm of food.

A adult, moderately active dog will need roughly 2 to 2.5% of her body weight per day
For cats we recommend 2.5%- 3% the higher level if they also are active younger cats.

Young growing animals will need considerably more and should be fed more frequently.

However the calculator will give you a good starting point.

If your companion is overweight they obviously will need less. A good starting point is to use the weight they SHOULD BE not actual weight.

If you bring your pet to the shop we will weigh them and advise you the amounts and which foods to feed to achieve a gradual healthy reduction in weight.

Offal and bone content

Most raw feeding experts would advise about 10% bone content and 10% offal

You do not need to be exact and do not need to feed 10% every day. For example if you give a feed of chicken wings or necks one day you can feed eggs or muscle meat for a few days. It should be approximately balanced over a period of time.

Most of the complete minced products we sell will have a good balance of 10% bone and 10% offal so you do not need to worry.
